We are Krishnan (retired from a private organization) and Sandhya (school teacher), an upper-middle-class Kannada Madhwa family, residing in Chennai. We are parents to our only daughter, Chetana, who is 26 years old and presently pursuing her PhD in Columbus, Ohio, USA. She is expected to complete her doctorate by December 2026 and intends to work in the USA thereafter.
We are looking for a suitable groom residing in the USA, preferably one whose parents are based in Chennai or Bangalore and speak Tamil. Our hope is to give the couple adequate time—around two years—to get to know each other before marriage.
A little about Chetana: she is intellectually inclined, scientifically oriented, and values simplicity and self-discipline in life. She is deeply family-oriented and introverted by nature. She does not smoke or drink, even socially. Chetana has a 15% deformity in her legs (clubfoot), which limits prolonged standing, walking long distances, or running. However, this has never affected her independence or her academic and professional life, and it is not expected to pose any future concerns.
We are seeking a Tamil-speaking Kannada or Tamil Brahmin groom, preferably between 28 and 29 years of age, with a PhD, as she believes shared academic and lifestyle values foster better understanding. She would prefer someone who is a single child and who upholds similar family values. We are also very open to welcoming a groom with a deformity, provided he is academically/professionally inclined and shares compatible values.
